LTS AutoService Center is a Missouri state inspection station serving St. Charles and surrounding areas. Vehicles registered in St. Charles Country must pass an emissions inspection in addition to the safety inspection. State inspections are required every other year. Even model year vehicles are inspected in even calendar years, and odd model year vehicles are inspected in odd calendar years.

Missouri requires a vehicle inspection within 30 days of purchase or residency. Some exclusions may apply depending on the model year of your vehicle. Talk with a member of our team, and we'll help you with the process.
In Missouri, most vehicles are required to undergo a safety inspection once every other year unless the vehicle is within its first 5 model years or meets another exemption rule. Residents living in certain counties are also required to pass smog and emissions testing in addition to the safety inspection.
You won't be able to renew your vehicle registration without passing the safety inspection and, if applicable, the emissions inspection.

State Inspection FAQ
Passing: After your vehicle passes the MO state inspection, you'll be able to complete your registration. Our car inspection station will provide you with a new windshield sticker and an official report certifying you have passed. A passing inspection is only good for 60 days after the inspection date, so make sure to register your vehicle within the designated time period.
Failing: In the event you fail the Missouri state inspection, you'll receive a report that explains the reasons why. You'll need to have your vehicle repaired by a Missouri Recognized Repair Technician and re-tested. You're entitled to one free re-inspection at the station you originally tested at within 20 business days (not including weekends and holidays) of the date of the initial test.
